The painting shows an everyday moment of my little brother fixing his hair before leaving the house. What seems like a simple daily routine also becomes a way of expressing and shaping identity. In alternative subcultures like punk and indie, style is often a conscious choice and an important part of who you are. The room reflects the person just as much as the mirror does – the posters, music, and personal belongings tell their own story about interests, influences, and belonging. The painting explores how identity is shaped not only by how we see ourselves, but also by the spaces and cultures we choose to be part of
